FRANK LAMPARD has only been in the Chelsea job for a matter of months.
But he has already overseen the biggest transfer profit of the Roman Abramovich era, with player exits this summer securing a whopping £133m for the Blues.
Lampard was unable to sign new faces after returning to his former club from Derby.
And with 21 players leaving Chelsea, including cult hero Eden Hazard and flop striker Alvaro Morata, he was able to bring in a stunning £173m in funds.
That figure was brought down to £133m by the £40m signing of Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid, who was already registered at the club after a loan spell.
But it’s still miles ahead of the £13m profit made by Felipe Luiz Scolari in 2008, when the £27m arrival of Jose Bosingwa and Deco were offset by numerous exits including Shaun Wright-Phillips and Wayne Bridge to Man City.
The only other time Chelsea have made a profit under Abramovich was in the 2014-15 season, when Jose Mourinho spent big on the likes of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas to win another Premier League title.
But he finished his spending £6m up after offloading the likes of David Luiz, Romelu Lukaku and Andre Schurrle for big fees.

However, aside from those three seasons, Abramovich has recorded losses in all of his other transfer windows.
The other two summers in Mourinho’s second spell saw him spend heavily, resulting in an overall loss of £43m.
That’s pennies compared to the Special One’s first spell at Stamford Bridge, where four summers of relentless business saw Abramovich make of a loss of £245m – despite yielding two titles.
Claudio Ranieri managed to spend £152m in his single summer under the Russian, bringing in just £1m in transfer fees – the least of any manager.
While Carlo Ancelotti’s league and FA cup scoop over two seasons saw him make a loss of £118m.
Despite making just two permanent signings last summer, Maurizio Sarri made a £124m loss after Chelsea then splashed out on Christian Pulisic in January before loaning him back to Borussia Dortmund.

Andre Villas-Boas’ transfer business recorded a loss of £58m, with Roberto Di Matteo and Antonio Conte down £76m and £75m respectively.
Interestingly, title winner Conte spent the most out of any Chelsea manager in a single season by splashing a stunning £234m in the 17/18 campaign.
That same term saw him also bring in more money than Lampard with £181m, but it still resulted in a £53m defecit.
Ancelotti and Scolari both share the accolade for least spent in a season at £27m.
And in total, Abramovich’s losses come to a staggering £744m.
But despite Lampard immediately making a profit, that number is sure to change if he is around long enough for Chelsea’s transfer ban to either end or be overturned.
The Blues have a number of ageing players in their squad, including Willian, Pedro and Olivier Giroud.
